LOS ANGELES -- Jamie McCourt's petition to be reinstated as the L.A. Dodgers chief executive has been denied.
Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled there is no state law to support her bid.
Jamie McCourt was fired by her estranged husband and team owner Frank McCourt the day after the team was defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Championship Series.
Jamie McCourt argued she should be given her job back because of her claims that she co-owns the Dodgers.
She also wanted more than $300,000 in spousal support and perks such as travel by private jet if she's reinstated.
The McCourts filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court last month citing irreconcilable differences.
The two have been married since November 1979 and have four grown sons. The couple separated July 6.
News of their separation came as the Dodgers were preparing to take on the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Chapionship Series.
The McCourts bought the Dodgers in 2004 and the team is now worth about $800 million, according to Jamie McCourt's petition.
She lists the team as a community asset that she partially owns.
Frank McCourt says he fired his estranged wife as CEO because she was having an affair with her bodyguard and doing a poor job.
It's feared a dispute over their assets could lead to a sale of the team, as happened in a dispute between San Diego Padres owner John Moores and his estranged wife, Becky.
However, Frank McCourt's lawyer has said that won't happen.
"Frank McCourt is the owner of the team. He has always been owner of the team," attorney Marshall Grossman said. "There should be no change at all with respect to anything the public is used to."
Jamie McCourt has also served as the team's president and vice chairman. She was the highest-ranking woman in Major League Baseball.
Frank and Jamie McCourt own four residential properties in the Los Angeles area, two in Holmby Hills and two in Malibu, property records show.
