ANAHEIM -- Orange County sheriff's investigators have made an arrest in the murders of a man and a woman in a Stanton mobile homes sales office in February.

Hilbert Pinell Thomas, 38, of Garden Grove was arrested today, but sheriff's officials did not immediately provide details of his capture.

The arrest comes one day after authorities found a 2004 white Lexus that belonged to one of the victims at the El Dorado Inn in Anaheim.

Investigators say the car was stolen from the scene of the double murder.

The car belonged to Elizabeth Ann Palmer, 47, who was found dead alongside her boss, 42-year-old Matthew Francis Scott, in the sales office of Golden Sun Homes on February 2.

Their bodies were discovered by the owner, Richard Palmer, who is also Matthew's father.

The victims had been shot to death, officials said.

The vehicle has been taken to a crime lab for further analysis, investigators said.

Authorities said the car has been there for between four days and two weeks and is in good shape.

The ignition was not "punched," meaning the suspect or suspects had been using the car's keys. The car's license plates had been replaced with paper plates, but authorities used the VIN number to confirm it was the stolen vehicle.
