MOJAVE, Calif. -- A 50-foot manufactured home was stolen outside a housing company's new office in Kern County, a spokesperson said.

Statewide Homes, a manufactured modular home company, reported that an entire home was stolen from them sometime on Thursday, February 18th, company spokeswoman Sheri L. Murray said.

The home, which is 11 feet wide by 50 feet long and 16 feet tall, was meant to be a model home at the company's new office in Mojave. The office is not entirely open or operational yet and the model home had recently been delivered.

"The home was set on piers and whomever stole it took the piers and all," Murray said in an email.

Kern County Sheriff officials say a witness reported seeing two men hooking the home up to a tow truck on Monday, February 22nd.

Statewide Homes hopes someone will spot the home traveling down the road or even sitting in their neighborhood, and report it to authorities.

The home is worth $45,000 according to Murray, and may not be covered by the company's insurance until it is found.

Murray says the home was originally built for a retired couple in Los Angeles, but the man died and the company wanted to help out the family by making it a model home.
