Mark Petrash (Orange County Sheriff's Department / October 1, 2009)
LAKE FOREST-- A middle school music teacher was arrested at his school on suspicion of flashing a medical office receptionist while his young son was being seen by a doctor.
Mark Petrash, 41, stands accused of indecent exposure in an August 24th incident when he pulled down his pants in a Lake Forest medical office, said Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino.
According to Amormino, Petrash was talking to the office's receptionist while his young son was being seen by a doctor. Petrash allegedly told the receptionist that he likes "to shock people" and pulled down his pants, exposing himself.
A sheriff's investigation led to Petrash's Thursday arrest at Serrano Intermediate School, where he works as a music teacher.
Tom Turner, spokesman for Saddleback Valley School District, said Petrash's fate at Serrano Intermediate is unclear, and that "the district is trying to figure out what to do next."
According to his biography posted on Serrano Intermediate School's website, he has taught at the school for 11 years and has also taught at Mission Viejo High School.
The biography also states Petrash has been married to his wife, Cheryl, for more than 10 years and has two sons, ages 4 and 10.
Petrash is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
