Mom accused of DUI in North Hollywood crash (KTLA-TV) |
Police say Lisette Gonzalez Avakian, 35, was driving along the 5900 block of Whitnall Highway at around 2 a.m. Wednesday when she crashed into two parked cars and flipped over.
Paramedics found the girl inside the car but not in the car seat.
She told them her mother had run away.
Police said the mother was found about a block away and arrested.
Video from the scene showed an infant car seat on the ground.
Police initially thought a baby might have been inside the car, but they determined the girl was the only passenger.
Avakian was transported to a hospital for treatment, but has since been released and booked.
The girl was also treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Two children, a 3-month-old boy and a 1-year-old girl, were eventually found alone in an apartment in North Hollywood.
Children services is investigating before more charges are filed against the mother.
