NORTH HOLLYWOOD -- Police arrested a man Sunday morning after an hours-long standoff at an apartment building that began after the man fired several into a neighbor's unit.
A Los Angeles police SWAT team, bomb squad units, and North Hollywood Division officers responded to the apartment in the 6500 block of Simpson Ave. about 10:40 p.m.
Officers were met by neighbor Nick Wilcox, who told them some bullets came through his apartment wall.
Authorities tried to contact the barricaded man, but withdrew after they saw bullet holes in his front door.
The Special Weapons and Tactics team was able to get the man out of the residence and arrest him shortly before 6 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman of the Media Relations Section.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone else had been hurt in the incident.
"All we know is that the trouble started with a domestic dispute," Los Angeles police Sgt. Gary Chilingarian said.
Police have not released the name of the arrested man.
