NORTHRIDGE -- Police are searching for up to two arsonists who threw molotov cocktails at an apartment in Northridge Wednesday morning, startling a sleeping family.

The attack was reported around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 8600 block of Wilbur Avenue near Napa Street.

When police and firefighters arrived, the exterior walls, doorway and roof of the apartment were in flames.

Arson investigators found at least two beer bottles filled with gasoline at the scene.

A wall and a sidewalk were charred, and a screen door was damaged in the attack.

No one was injured in the incident.

The suspects fled the scene before any witnesses saw them.

There was no word on a motive in the attack.
