OAKLAND (KTLA) -- Police say a 15-year-old boy has admitted to killing his parents and hiding their bodies underneath blankets in the family's car parked outside their Oakland home.

Police arrested the juvenile, whose name is not being released because he is a minor, on suspicion of murder. Police say he told investigators that he killed Robert Kamin, 54, and Susan Poff, 50 and hid their bodies.

Police are not releasing what the high school freshman's motive may have been.

Officers originally had gone to the couple's home after co-workers had asked police to check on them since the victims had not reported to work.

On their second visit to the residence, police saw a body part sticking out from beneath blankets in the couple's car.

Kamin worked as a clinical psychologist in the San Francisco County Jail system, and Poff was a physician assistant at the San Francisco Department of Public Health's Housing and Urban Health clinic.

A neighbor who has lived in the area of the couple's home for 15 years said the incident was unusual for a neighborhood known for being safe and quiet.

"It's the first time I've seen something like that on this street," said the resident, who declined to give a name out of fear of retribution. "I feel less safe here now."
