Martin Duet Archuleta, 38 |
SANTA ANA -- A registered sex offender is accused of videotaping the rape of a family friend.
Martin Duet Archuleta, 44, was arrested at his home in Santa Ana on suspicion of felony rape by force, said Santa Ana Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The arrest came after the 29-year-old victim told police that on June 28 she willingly went to Archuleta's home, but tried to leave when he became angry, Bertagna said.
That's when Archuleta apparently grabbed a black folding knife and held it to her cheek, he said.
The victim said Archuleta threw her on the bed, ripped off her clothes and raped her, Bertagna said.
"She said she repeatedly told him to stop and he wouldn't," Bertagna said.
The victim said Archuleta was recording the alleged rape and then threatened to show it to everyone, Bertagna said.
After the alleged rape, Archuleta left the victim numerous threatening voicemails and told her husband she was "sleeping around", Bertagna said.
"The victim admitted they had a consensual sexual encounter but the last time it was forced and against her will," Bertagna said, adding that the alleged rape occurred about five weeks after the consensual sexual encounter.
Archuleta admitted to videotaping the woman during what he described as a consensual sexual encounter, Bertagna said.
Police found video of the alleged rape on Archuleta's computer, he said.
He is being held at the Orange Count Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
