LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Southern California is drying out after the first significant storm of the season pushed through the area, bringing cooler temperatures and heavy rain.
Forecasters say there's a chance of showers through Thursday evening, but dryer conditions and warmer temperatures are on the way.
Wednesday's fast-moving storm brought heavy rainfall to the region Wednesday, causing several traffic accidents and minor flooding. In Newport Beach, a 40-foot eucalyptus tree fell onto a house and some cars. Luckily, no one was injured.
Snow levels were expected to drop to 5,500 feet by Thursday morning, with higher peaks seeing 1-to-2-inches of snow, NWS officials said.
Many areas in the region will not see any rain on Thursday while others receive light-to-moderate rainfall, forecasters say.
Dryer, warmer weather is expected Friday through early next week.
