LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- An LAUSD teacher charged with molestation four children, including at least one student at Telefair Elementary School in Pacoima, has now been accused of molesting another 9 youngsters.
Paul Chapel, 51, is already charged with 16 counts of sex abuse involving three girls and one boy, all under 14 years old.
Now according to the Daily News, a revised criminal complaint charges Chapel with committing lewd acts against an additional five boys and four girls.
The alleged abuse dates back to 2006.
The Daily News also reports that 15 years ago Chapel was accused of molesting a young neighbor in Simi Valley, but he was allowed back in the classroom after the trial ended in a hung jury.
The state reinstated his teaching credential in Sept. 1998, and Chapel was reassigned to Telefair Elementary in October 1998 as a third-grade teacher.
In addition, just months before Chapel was hired by the LAUSD in 1988, he was sued for allegedly making racial slurs and inappropriate sexual comments to a class at Chaminade High School, a private school in West Hills.
Both Chapel and Chaminade denied the allegations, but ultimately settled the case with a $56,000 payout.
Chapel was fired from the district in mid-March by a unanimous vote of the school board.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He remains behind bars on $3.4 million bail.
