PACOIMA -- A suspected hit-and-run driver has been arrested for allegedly fatally hitting a teen bicyclist in Pacoima early Saturday morning.
The accident happened on Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Chamberlain Street around 2 a.m., according to the LAPD.
The victim, a teen male, was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he later died.
Witness descriptions of the vehicle involved helped police track down and arrest the suspect in Mission Hills, just several miles from the scene of the crash.
Police say the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities haven't released the name of the victim, pending notification of his family.
