PALMDALE (KTLA) -- The boyfriend of a murdered single mother of six has been arrested by sheriff's deputies in Palmdale.
Kenneth Roger Griffin, 51, was escorted into the Palmdale sheriff's station by his attorney around 8 p.m. Monday.
He met with homicide detectives, and was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder in the death of 41-year-old Andrea Perry.
Sheriff's received a call around 9:30 a.m. Sunday of a dead woman inside a home in the 39000 block of Desert Holly Lane.
Perry's body was found by her kids when they went to wake her up before church, where she sang in the choir alongside Griffin.
"We were banging on her door and she wouldn't open the door," Perry's 12-year-old daughter told KTLA.
"We went in there and she was just lying there."
"Her face was just covered with a blanket," 14-year-old daughter Janaye Perry said.
"When we uncovered the blanket, it was just a horrible sight."
Family members say Perry's youngest child was lying unharmed next to her body.
Perry, a single mother of four kids, had also adopted her sister's two kids and was the sole caretaker of her elderly mother.
All six children, who range in age from 1 to 14, and her mother were home at the time of the murder.
"My mother was a strong person," Janaye Perry told KTLA.
"Even though she couldn't do everything for us, she did what she thought we needed."
Investigators are unsure if Griffin was in the home the night of the murder.
Perry's children said Griffin was at their house when they went to bed Saturday night.
They said he parks in the garage, and they never heard his car pull out.
Griffin told KTLA that he left at 11 p.m. on Saturday. He maintains his innocence.
The Perry family has moved out of their house, and is now staying with cousins.
Anyone with more information is encouraged to call the sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.
