LOS ANGELES -- A man was charged Monday with raping a woman in the a bathroom of a Boyle Heights park and attacking another woman on the same day.

Jesse Salvador Solis, 28, is accused of dragging an 18 year old woman into a bathroom at Hazard Park Thursday. He then allegedly grabbed another woman and tried to drag her into a laundry facility while groping her, but she was able to get away.

Solis has pleaded not guilty to one felony count each of forcible rape, sexual penetration by a foreign object and kidnapping to commit another crime in connection with the alleged attack, along with one count of assault with intent to commit a felony involving the second woman.

The criminal complaint against Solis alleges that he has two prior criminal convictions for residential burglary in 1999 and one in 2000 and a 2003 conviction for corporal injury to a spouse.

Solis remains jailed in lieu of $3.3 million bail pending his next court appearance.

If convicted on all counts, he faces a minimum of 25 years to life in prison, according to the District Attorney's Office.
