JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (KTLA) -- Authorities have identified a couple shot to death in a parking lot at Patriot High School in Jurupa Valley.
The shooting, reported around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, prompted a lockdown on the campus, located at Camino Real and Mission Boulevard.
Maria Celia Aguirre, 61, a volunteer at the school, was found lying on the ground, officials said. She died at a hospital.
Her husband, Donaciano Aguirre, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A gun was reportedly found lying beside the male victim.
School officials said Maria Aguirre was a bilingual studies volunteer.
Preliminary reports indicate the shooting may have been a murder-suicide.
No students were hurt.
