LOS ANGELES-- Two people were shot in an apparent armed robbery attempt of a medical marijuana dispensary.
The shooting occurred around 4:45 p.m. Friday in the 11000 block of Pico Boulevard, said Officer Cleon Joseph.
The victims were identified as two employees of a clinic near a marijuana dispensary, which may have been confused for the dispensary itself.
Byron Bucao, an eyewitness, told KTLA that two men walked into the building and one of the men signed in while the other man, who was wearing an unzipped backpack with a gun inside, stood near the door.
When the men reportedly asked the receptionist for money and she refused, a scuffle ensued, resulting in the shootings of the receptionist and another employee.
One victim was hospitalized in critical condition and the other in serious condition, police said.
It was unknown if the attack was gang-related, Officer Joseph said.
