LOS ANGELES -- Police in Los Angeles are searching for a man they say impersonates an undercover officer, then robs victims at gunpoint.
Authorities say the robberies have happened in the late morning and early afternoon hours in several communities.
The suspect approaches victims dressed as a plain clothes police officer, with a badge clipped to a gun belt. He identifies himself as a police officer and begins to search the victims, removing cash and wallets.
Police say the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, around 6 feet tall, 200 to 230 pounds and 35 to 45 years old.
He has been seen wearing a dark polo-style shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with any information about the crimes is urged to contact the LAPD.
