LOS ANGELES -- You've heard of city-run parking lots and shuttles, but now Los Angeles officials are offering curbside valets in one area of town.
The West Third Street shopping district between La Cienega Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue will receive a first-of-its-kind valet service launched Saturday by the city and the West Third Street Business Association.
"Customers have told us, we love your street, but we don't love the parking situation," states Deborah Wolsh, owner of Ethel Boutique. "So we and the office of Councilman Koretz created this service to make it as easy as possible for our customers and neighbors."
Regent Parking, Inc. will run the valet service mainly from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on weekends through the holidays; afterward a full-time schedule will be rolled out in the New Year. It will cost $3.50.
"The new service is going to make parking easier for motorists, and life better for local residents," said Koretz.
