LOS ANGELES -- A disturbing video showing a young woman throwing puppies into a river has infuriated viewers, including animal rights activists.
In the video, a girl in a red hooded sweatshirt is seen repeatedly pulling puppies out of a bucket and tossing them into a fast-moving river.
The girl appears to be speaking another language, possibly Croatian.
The puppies can be heard crying during the ordeal. It's not clear what ultimately happened to the animals.

The authenticity of the video also could not immediately be verified.
The video has led to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals offering a $2,000 reward for information leading the capture and arrest of the people behind the incident.
PETA has posted the following message on its blog: "Members of 4chan were able to track down the owner of the Bosnian YouTube account that originally uploaded the video and we currently have six possible leads, but the identity of the girl has yet to be confirmed."
The video was originally posted on YouTube but was quickly taken down.
