NORTH HOLLYWOOD-- A high-speed police pursuit ended with a twist Friday night when a suspect escaped on foot and changed his shirt in an attempt to fool police.

Just before 8:30 p.m. Friday night, LAPD officers initiated a pursuit of a suspect in a stolen vehicle, a grey Chevrolet Suburban.

The driver led police in a high-speed chase down the 170 freeway before taking the pursuit to side streets in North Hollywood.

One of the four passengers of the stolen Chevy jumped out of the sports utility vehicle at Lankershim and Victory Boulevard.

The driver and the other two passengers abandoned the vehicle nearby and fled into an apartment complex.

One of the suspects apparently changed his shirt from white to blue in an attempt to fool police into believing he was another person, but the officers weren't fooled.

All four suspects were taken into police custody.
