REDLANDS, Calif. (KTLA) -- A 52-year-old man accused of molesting a 4-year-old girl who was found naked in his apartment pleaded not guilty to all charges Thursday.

The girl's father made the shocking discovery at the Los Arboles complex in the 900 block of Pine Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The father went looking for the child -- who had been playing -- and found both her and the suspect, Terrence Giberson, undressed, Redlands police spokesman Carl Baker told KTLA, who was first on the scene.

Giberson, 52, is charged with two counts of oral copulation/sexual penetration with a child under 10 years old, two counts of forcible lewd act upon a child under 10 years old, and one count of kidnapping to commit another crime.

A resident told KTLA that other children saw the girl banging on the suspect's window for help and then told their parents to call police.

The father found his daughter's sippy cup outside the man's apartment, and the girl cried out for help after he knocked on the door, police said.

The father stormed in, grabbed the girl and called police, who later surrounded the man's apartment as he refused to come out.

"He showed remarkable restraint, admirable restraint, in not beating up the suspect," Baker said.

Giberson eventually surrendered and was suffering from superficial knife wounds, police said.

If convicted on all counts, Giberson faces up to three life sentences.
