LOS ANGELES -- Police brutality victim Rodney King is reportedly set to marry one of the jurors who awarded him $3.8 million in his civil suit against the city of Los Angeles.

King, 44, recently proposed to Cynthia Kelley, who served as juror number five, RadarOnline is reporting.

In 1991, King was beaten by four white LAPD officers after a police chase through the San Fernando Valley.

Videotape of the beating was first aired on KTLA.

The video caused outrage across the country, raising tensions between the black community and the LAPD.

The officers were tried and acquitted, sparking the Los Angeles riots of 1992 which lasted four days and left 55 people dead.

King and Kelley say their connection began shortly after his civil trial the following year.

Both were married to other people at the time and have since divorced.

The pair reunited four months ago.

"She is a godsend, a blessing in my life," King told RadarOnline.

"It was like we were never apart from one another," Kelley told the site.

No wedding date has been announced.
