HOLLYWOOD -- Two firefighters were hurt battling a fire at a Hollywood estate just south of Runyon Canyon Park Sunday.
The fire in the main house at 1800 N. Camino Palmero was reported at 8:29 a.m.
Radio reports indicated that the fire started in the kitchen and spread through the walls into the attic of the large, two-story home.
Some 130 firefighters knocked down the flames in just over to hours, according to Los Angeles fire spokesman Devin Gales. Crews used chainsaws to cut through areas of the Spanish-style roof.
Fire officials feared the blaze would spread to nearby brush, but they were able to contain it to the house. The residence had a guesthouse in the back, which was not burned.
Two firefighters suffered injuries other than burns and were taken to hospitals, Gales said.
Gales did not know the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
