SAN BERNARDINO -- A popular park in San Bernardino is shut down this morning after a man was shot and killed during an apparent robbery.

Police say the 22-year-old man and his friends were hanging out at the park around 11 p.m. Sunday when another group of men and women confronted them.

The victim's friends were robbed and the 22-year-old, from Highland, was shot, according to investigators. The victim died at the scene.

Not much information was immediately known about the suspects, including how they fled the park.

Detectives were scouring the area for clues Monday morning. Locals who frequent the park say an incident like this is rare.

It was not known when the park would reopen to the public.
