SAN GABRIEL VALLEY (KTLA) -- Police estimate that as much as $2.5 million in marijuana was seized from an illegal grow house and office in the San Gabriel Valley Thursday.
Investigators carried out a month-long investigation against two locations in the city of Alhambra and in an unincorporated area in San Gabriel they believe were operated by Joseph Hsu, a convicted felon.
Hsu, 30, of San Gabriel, was allegedly using a rented condominium as a fully-operational indoor marijuana grow house. Over 40 plants and 40-50 pounds of dried marijuana were taken from his home, police said.
Two handguns and a shotgun were also seized.
At the office on South Date Avenue, deputies discovered over 400 plants in different stages of growth along with approximately 100 pounds of dried marijuana.
Hsu was arrested Thursday for narcotics and weapons charges and is being held on $35,000 bail.
Pauline McDonnell, 22, of Redlands, was also arrested on narcotics charges. Her bail is set at $22,000.
