SIMI VALLEY -- A man accused of killing his wife and wounding several others in a shooting spree at a dental office in Simi Valley pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges Monday.

Police say Jaime Paredes, 30, of Simi Valley, stormed into the "Family Dental Care" clinic on July 1 and fatally he shot his wife and wounded 3 bystanders.
The three people wounded in the shooting were revealed by Simi Valley police to be Christian Carpio, 18, Peredes' brother-in-law; Lydia Carranza, 41; and Gloria Castrellon, 38, with current injury statuses unknown. All three victims wounded were form Simi Valley and were employees of the dental office.
A fourth person was said to have been grazed by a bullet.
After the shooting, Paredes barricaded himself inside the building and surrendered about an hour later.
He was said to be wearing shorts, no shirt and had a shaved head.
Paredes' wife, Mariela Paredes, 24, was reportedly seeking a divorce at the time.
The couple had been separated for two months, but Paredes apparently didn't take the request for a divorce well.
