DOWNEY -- The grandson of Frank Sinatra, 32 year old Frank Sinatra III, Monday night was hospitalized at Downey Regional Medical Center after a suicide attempt at his home.

Sources close to the family tell KTLA that the grandson of the singing legend attempted suicide by ingesting pills.

According to the source, the incident happened around 5 p.m. Monday. Paramedics responded to a 9-1-1 call and transported him to the hospital.

His condition was unknown as of 10:00 p.m., but doctors were 'working on him' at that hour. Family members from across the country were en-route to the hospital.

Sinatra III is the son of Frank Sinatra, Jr.

The legendary singer had two other children by his first wife -- Nancy and Tina.
