LAPD officials say a man approached a woman in the area of 14th St. and Towne Ave. and promised her food.

He took her to a nearby McDonald's restaurant, where he demanded sex.

When she refused, he threatened her with a knife, gagged her, bound her with duct tape and drove her to an industrial area of Alhambra where he raped her and threw her into a dumpster, police said.

A businessman eventually helped the woman and she was treated at a local hospital.

Police say a similar attack occurred on Aug. 1 at 6th St. and Stanford Ave.

A 37-year-old homeless woman accepted a ride from a man.

She was tied up and raped for three days before being dumped in Koreatown, officials said.

The suspect is described only as a middle-aged man driving a brown van.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Detective Josh Riggs, Central Sex Unit, at (213) 972-1235
