LOS ANGELES -- Police have arrested local soccer coach on multiple charges of child molestation.

Jose Duarte, 42, was taken into custody on Monday in the mid-city area.

Police began investigating Duarte after a 13-year-old victim came forward and said he had been sexually assaulted by his soccer coach, the LAPD said.

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Police have arrested local soccer coach on multiple charges of child molestation.

Jose Duarte, 42, was taken into custody on Monday in the mid-city area.

Police began investigating Duarte after a 13-year-old victim came forward and said he had been sexually assaulted by his soccer coach, the LAPD said.

The alleged crime happened at the boy's house, police said.

Detectives identified Duarte as the suspect.

During their investigation, police found two additional victims whom Duarte also coached and allegedly abused.

Duarte now faces 15 felony counts of child molestation.

He remains in jail on $2.26 million bail.

Duarte has worked as a soccer coach for a team called USA that practiced and played at MacArthur Park and Vista Hermosa Park, as well as the Gilbert Lindsey Recreation Center.

He also helped in transporting kids at Webster Middle School for soccer practice.
