SOUTH GATE -- An investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death outside his home.
The shooting occurred in the 5300 block of Ledgewood Road near Adella Avenue in South Gate about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, said Deputy Byron Ward of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
The victim died at a hospital, Ward said.
His name was not immediately released.
Details of the shooting have not yet been disclosed.
The victim's wife reportedly found him dead in the driveway.
The shooting is being investigated by South Gate police and sheriff's homicide detectives.
Sheriff's detectives initially said they did not believe the shooting was gang-related.
