SOUTH L.A. (KTLA) -- Homicide detectives are investigating a body dumped inside a trash can Saturday morning.
Police received an anonymous call at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday of a dead person inside a trash bin outside a home near 66th Street and Halldale Avenue.
When detectives arrived, they found the body of a man aged about 50-years-old inside a blue Los Angeles City distributed recycling bin, according to LAPD Detective Chris Barling.
They have not identified the man but they have listed his race as Hispanic.
The death is being treated as a homicide until police know the actual cause of death, Barling said.
"Right now we don't know what that cause of death is, and we will continue to investigate it to see if we will come to the right conclusion," Barling said.
Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD 77th Division homicide detectives as 213-485-1385.
