SOUTH PASADENA -- A murder suspect is behind bars after leading police on a pursuit that came to a crashing conclusion in South Pasadena early Friday.
The Los Angeles Police Department initiated the pursuit around 12:20 a.m. because the vehicle was wanted in connection with a homicide.
It came to a dramatic end at Orange Grove Avenue and Oliver Street, with the suspect vehicle jumping the curb and crashing into some shrubs.
The male driver was a parolee with an outstanding warrant.
Authorities had to use chainsaws to cut him out of the vehicle.
The suspect was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. He'll be taken to jail when he's released from the hospital.
No one else was injured in the crash, though the roof of a home was damaged.
