UPLAND -- The huge star that one man in the community of San Antonio Heights puts up during the holiday season will have some company this year, as other residents of the so-called "Star Community" have set up smaller stars in front of their houses.
Each year, Ken Petschow puts up a massive star measuring 75 feet tall by 75 feet wide that can be seen as far as the Chino Valley.
And now many of his neighbors have gotten in on the act, though none of the other stars are as large as his.
Petchow lost his home in the Grand Prix fire in the fall of 2003, but the next year, the star was held up by a crane parked on a slab of concrete.
Residents then started lighting their own stars throughout the neighborhood.
They say the stars tie the community together and make the holiday season a little more special.
