LOS ANGELES ( KTLA ) -- Over half of the remains of a stolen cargo container filled with $4 million worth of cosmetics have been recovered in Los Angeles, detectives revealed Wednesday.
A cargo container bound for Washington was reported stolen in Utah last month. The company's loss prevention department traced some of the product to several locations in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed in a press release Wednesday.
After further investigation, detectives were able to identify some of the material being loaded into a delivery truck last week at a warehouse in South Gate. Eight employees were detained.
Four additional locations were also identified and approximately $2 million in stolen products have been recovered. The locations have been identified as 9th and Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles, Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles, Pacific Boulevard in Huntington Park and East Washington Boulevard in the City of Commerce.
The unnamed cosmetics company has had two loads go missing in the past.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is still ongoing.
