LIVERMORE, Calif. -- Investigators say a student driver was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic that struck six adults in a Northern California crosswalk.

Livermore police say 20-year-old Farhat Mohammad made a left turn and struck the pedestrians Saturday night.

Three of the pedestrians were taken to hospitals, but none of the injuries was life-threatening.

Police said Mohammad was learning to drive and had a valid permit.

She was with a licensed driver.
