ELYSIAN PARK, Calif. (KTLA) -- An explosion on the set of a Mountain Dew commercial in Elysian Park left a stuntman hospitalized in critical condition.
The accident occurred about 2:30 p.m. Friday near Dodger Stadium at 3500 Academy Road.
Explosive powder misfired and a device meant to protect the stuntman malfunctioned, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The 28-year-old stuntman suffered burns in the blast and was rushed to a local hospital.
The LAFD, LAPD and Cal-OSHA are investigating.
