20-year old Dalray Kawane Andrews was arrested at a probation office on suspicion of robbery and murder.
Police say he shot 20-year old Joshua Huizar "for no apparent reason."
Huizar and his 18-year-old girlfriend Viridana Sanchez were in their car outside the Taco Bell on the 1200 block of Baseline Road when they were approached by an armed man around 1 a.m. Saturday, April 9th.
According to police, the man asked for his wallet and personal belongings.
"A young black male just came towards us and pulled a gun and wanted to rob us," Sanchez said. "We didn't have money and he got mad and just shot him."
Huizar handed over his wallet and was shot as he tried to leave the scene. He later died at a local hospital.
Family members said he was a good kid who loved working on fast cars and video games.
"You never think it's going to happen to you," his mother Elsa Huizar told KTLA. "He was my only son. He was a good boy."
"Now he's gone."
Sanchez did not sustain any injuries.
