NEW YORK -- A special education teacher in the Bronx was arrested and charged after police said he got a 15-year-old student pregnant - a result from an alleged year-long tryst with the teenage girl.
Bill Agosto, 26, a teacher for the Bronx School of Science Inquiry and Investigation at M.S. 331 in Concourse, was arrested Wednesday and charged with rape and sexual misconduct.
According to police, Agosto had a sexual relationship with the girl who is described as a former student. She is not a student at M.S. 331, police confirmed.
Sources say the relationship between the pair was consensual and also resulted in the girl getting pregnant. They allegedly began their relationship when he worked at a different school as a track coach.
The teenager's mother suspected something was going on and alerted authorities.
Officials for the Department of Education say Agosto is being reassigned away from the classroom.
