WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) -- Sheriff's deputies arrested three men Saturday who they say robbed a West Hollywood medical marijuana dispensary at gunpoint.
Three black men entered the Farmacy Medical Marijuana Dispensary in the 7000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard just after 8 p.m. Saturday, closing the front door behind them, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release. One of the men used a gun to hold up six employees while the other two men bound their hands.
The men then marched the employees to the back of the dispensary and ordered them to lie on the ground while the manager was forced to open a safe.
The men stole money, glass containers containing marijuana and the employees' cell phones, according to the news release. They then left the dispensary and ran away.
None of the employees were injured.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies arrived and learned the robbers stole the employees' cell phones. After investigating, they also learned the men were headed to the Lancaster area. Deputies out of the Sheriff's Lancaster station later found the men at a home the city. Sheriff's officials did not release information on where the home was located in Lancaster.
Deputies arrested Derrick Devon Jones, 30, of Los Angeles, on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping. He is being held without bail because of a parole violation. They also arrested Willie David Johnson, 35, of Lancaster and Terrence Terrill Brown, 29, of Compton, both on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping. Both men are being held on $100,000 bail.
Deputies from West Hollywood served a search warrant at the Lancaster home and recovered property belonging to the employees of the dispensary, according to the news release. They also found the weapon officials say the men used to commit the robbery.
