BROCKTON, Mass. -- Officials say 4-year-old twin girls have drowned at their family's unused swimming pool in Brockton.
The Plymouth District Attorney's office says Lindsey Bonsu died Saturday afternoon and Leslie died early Sunday morning.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney says rescue personnel responded to reports that the girls fell into the pool.
The pool was full of water, but not being used or maintained by the family and the water was murky.
The Boston Globe reports that Brockton Deputy Fire Chief Timothy Murphy says firefighters and paramedics performed CPR on the girls, who were not breathing when they were pulled from the pool at their home at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The children were taken to Brockton Hospital and transferred to Children's Hospital Boston.
Lindsey Bonsu, was pronounced dead after arriving there.
Her sister, Leslie, was in "very critical condition."
She later died as well.
