BRONX, N.Y. -- A would-be thief who tried to rob a livery cab driver Thursday used an unusual weapon -- his mouth.

Police say the suspect requested the driver take him to West 180th St. in the Bronx.

When the cab arrived, the man pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the driver's money.

The cabbie resisted and a struggle ensued, police said, but instead of using his gun, the suspect attacked the driver with his teeth.

After biting the driver roughly five times on his neck, arm and back, the suspect took off.

He is described as a 6-foot tall Hispanic male in his 30's.

He was wearing a black leather jacket.
