LOS ANGELES-- A 7 year old boy was abducted by his mother in Van Nuys, and may be headed to Mexico, according to police.
At around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the aunt of 7 year old Edgar Contreras reported that he has been abducted by his biological mother from his home in the 14200 block of Calvert Street in Van Nuys, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.
Edgar's mother, 25 year old Ana Perez, lost custody of the boy to his aunt due to her alleged drug problem.
Perez pulled up to the home Wednesday night in a black 1999 GMC Jimmy with license plate number "4GFA101." When the boy saw his mother, the boy entered the vehicle and it took off, detectives said.
LAPD investigators say they were able to contact Perez by phone and she said she took her soon because she felt his aunt was not taking good care of him.
The boy's aunt says she believes Perez is taking the boy to Mexico.
Edgar Contreras is described as a male Hispanic with black hair, brown eyes, standing 4 feet tall, and weighing 50 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red t shirt, blue jeans, and white and gray shoes.
Perez is a female Hispanic with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 115 pounds.
