VENICE ( KTLA) -- The body of a man was recovered Saturday morning from a canal in Venice by L.A. City firefighters and L.A. County Lifeguards.
L.A. County coroner's officials confirmed late Saturday morning that they recovered the body from a canal two blocks south of Venice Blvd.
Earlier Saturday morning, firefighters responded to a 9-1-1 call of a body in the water. Firefighters called in L.A. County lifeguards who used a rescue surfboard to recover the remains.
Investigators with the LAPD and coroner's office say the man appeared to be between the ages of 20 to 30 years old. An autopsy will need to be performed to determine a cause of death.
