WESTWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) -- Police are looking for two armed robbers who broke into a home in Westwood and tied up an elderly man's caregiver.
It happened around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Norcroft Avenue, just east of the UCLA campus, according to the LAPD.
Prominent divorce attorney Eugene Trope lives at the home.
Trope was reportedly still sleeping when his caregiver went outside to get the newspaper.
He was ambushed by two men with guns who tied him up and put a gag in his mouth.
Trope reportedly locked himself inside a bedroom.
A gardener contacted police while the robbery was taking place.
The suspects packed items including sterling silver and crystal into several suitcases before fleeing in a Chrysler 300.
Both men were wearing hoods and had their faces covered.
They were described only as African-American males.
