PASADENA, Calif. (KTLA) -- A woman wearing a uniform claiming to be a police officer wound up handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser Thursday, according to Pasadena police officials.
A Pasadena firefighter reported about 2:45 p.m. that a woman in the 1100 block of Linda Vista Avenue told a fire crew she was a police officer. The woman -- identified as Sonia Yeretzian, 37, of Pasadena -- wore a dark blue blouse and pants along with black boots.
But Yeretzian's clothing did not bear the insignia of any police department, police officials said.
Genuine Pasadena police officers responded to the report to find Yeretzian driving away. They pulled her over and she told the officers she was a Los Angeles police officer, the Los Angeles Times reported.
When the officers ran a check on Yeretzian, they found she had two outstanding warrants for impersonating a police officer in Pasadena and another for resisting arrest in Glendale.
She was arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer and for the outstanding warrants.
