PASADENA, Calif. (KTLA) -- A park ranger warned a woman Friday for walking her dog without a leash at Eaton Canyon Nature Center and the woman responded by striking the ranger with her car, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Deputies arrested the woman, Arune Kavaliauskaite, 28, of Altadena, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the Times reported. The ranger was taken to a hospital and was released hours later.

The ranger warned Kavaliauskaite three times after the woman's dog was spotted running without a leash about 3 p.m. at the center at 1750 N. Altadena Driver.

After the third warning, the ranger called her office for help after Kavaliauskaite allegedly grew hostile. The woman then grabbed her dog and got into her car, the Times reported.

The ranger stood a short distance away from the car to take Kavaliauskaite's photo. As she did, Kavaliauskaite accelerated forward and struck the ranger in the legs, knocking her into another parked vehicle, the Times reported.

Kavaliauskaite allegedly then fled the scene.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies arrested Kavaliauskaite at her home Friday evening. Her bail was set at $30,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday in Pasadena.
