YUCAIPA -- A 16 year old Redlands girl is under arrest for investigation of murder after sheriff's deputies say she fatally stabbed another girl at a Halloween party.
16 year old Bianca Becerra was found badly wounded shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning when deputies were called to a home in the 35000 block of Avenue C in Yucapia on reports of a stabbing.
Becerra died of her wounds at 4 a.m. at Loma Linda Medical Center.
Officials at Redlands Community Hospital contacted authorities on Sunday morning informing them that a teen had been admitted with severe cuts, according to Sgt. Tony De Cecio. Investigators determined the second victim was involved in the fight with Becerra.
Witnesses later told authorities that Becerra and the other teen got into a violent fight during the Halloween party. It's unclear what led to the altercation.
The two girls were schoolmates in Redlands, De Cecio said.
The teen, whose name is not being released because of her age, was booked into Juvenile Hall in Rancho Cucamonga for murder.
A search warrant was served in the 6600 block of Victoria in the city of Highland where additional evidence was located linking the juvenile to the murder of Becerra.
Anyone with information regarding this incident may contact Sergeant Tony De Cecio or Detective Jason Radeleff at 909-387-3589.
