An investigation has revealed that the couple ignored noises heard during the night, and notified the West Los Angeles Police Department for the first time at about 10:00am, officials told KTLA.
Anhalt estimates that at least $100,000 worth of items were stolen, including paintings, statues, computer equipment and $14,000 in professional camera equipment.
The house is heavily damaged, Anhalt says, and many of the doors and windows are broken.
"It's quite a bit of damage," a self-described 'totally exhausted' Anhalt told KTLA. "They tried to get in three different doors. It's pretty bad."
Police are still investigating at this time.
Gabor was rushed to the hospital several times in recent months for health complications, including surgery to amputate part of her leg. She has been resting at home since her 94th birthday earlier this month.
The couple's Bel Air mansion is up for sale for $28 million dollars. Prince Von Anhalt says that the 28-room, 12,000-square-foot home was once owned by Elvis is a burden.
Gabor, a sex symbol of the 1950s and 1960s, has used a wheelchair since she was partially paralyzed in a 2002 car accident, and had a stroke in 2005.
