Days after cleaning up at the Grammy Awards, English star Adele is now suing a French tabloid after it published alleged photos of the singer having sex.

The photos were said to have been from a sex tape that the magazine, 'Public', claims they acquired from Adele's former lover.

The alleged sex tape was shot with a cell phone in the back seat of a car, but Adele denies that she appears in it.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, Adele's attorney said: "We are informed that the French magazine Public has today published images which it claims show our client in a sex tape. Our client has not appeared in a sex tape as claimed in the article. Our client does not appear in the photographs. Such claims are untrue and grossly defamatory. Our client is taking legal action in relation to this matter."

The lawsuit comes on the heels of a major victory for Adele in Los Angeles, where she won 6 Grammy Awards.

The 23-year-old singer has also reportedly just moved into a new $6 million mansion located near her new boyfriend, Simon Konecki.
