West Hollywood wasn't this bright Tuesday night. (November 17, 2009)
WEST HOLLYWOOD -- The lights went dark for residents and businesses in parts of West Hollywood and the South Bay Tuesday night, authorities said.
In West Hollywood a problem in an electrical vault about 6:33 p.m. appeared to have cut power along a stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard near La Cienega Boulevard.
About 1,600 utility customers were affected before power was restored about two hours later.
It's unclear what sparked the outage in Hermosa Beach, which spread up the coast to the Redondo Beach border about 6 p.m. Sources told KTLA power there would likely not be restored until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
